Save Kezar Stadium!

Amidst the budget cuts planned for San Francisco, Kezar Stadium is a target for reductions which will affect public use and enjoyment. The extent of the cuts is not yet known- but Parks and Recreation directors in the city have already received pink slips- which alone will impact the quality of our city parks and services.

Further budget cuts threaten to impact Kezar and other city parks, and could include privatization of services offered and or admission fees as well as the reduction in classes that are currently free to the public.

The possible outcomes of cutting the parks and recreation budget affecting Kezar include:
  • Reduction in hours open for use
  • Fees charged for use
  • Reduction in sanitation services
  • Reduction of park security patrols and public safety
  • Reduction in class schedules
  • Privatization of currently free classes
  • Loss of ability to schedule access
  • Slowing or complete halt to any needed repairs and maintenance

While the Parks and Recreation budget line item is a fraction of San Francisco's overall budget and the impending budget gap-- it is NOT something that should be cut as it brings enjoyment and health benefits to thousands of users.

If you value use of this historic landmark, join the supporters to "Save Kezar" and keep it operating at a level that supports the community and with the communities support!
